FocusWord is an annotation-based language learning app developed by Andres Rivera. FocusWord lets you mark words you don’t know and annotate them using translated text. By emphasizing comprehensible input and leveraging spaced repetition, FocusWord helps you learn and retain new vocabulary.

Andres Rivera is an amateur programmer with a passion for languages. He developed FocusWord to try and address all the frustrations he experienced while studying with other language-learning apps. A long-time user of Anki (the greatest flashcard app ever made), he sought to combine Anki’s powerful SRS philosophy with a more targeted language-learning approach.

FocusWord is available for iOS and macOS 26.0 and above.
